Stash · WLOC setup tutorial
Get WLOC running on Stash — YAML override, scripts, and MitM, the right way
Stash users, listen carefully: do not put the WLOC override through Script Hub. Subscribe directly. Script Hub rewrites YAML and it will mangle the script-provider references WLOC depends on. This is not a maybe — it will break. Direct subscription preserves the exact format.
Before you start
- WLOC installed.
- Stash installed (separate purchase).
- A test device.
- Stable Wi-Fi.
Step 1: Subscribe to the WLOC override directly
Copy the URL: https://wloc.app/modules/wloc.stoverride. In Stash, Override tab, tap + → Subscribe, paste URL. Do NOT use Script Hub. If you already did, delete it and start over.
- Direct subscription preserves the exact YAML format.
- Script Hub rewrites YAML in ways that break WLOC.
Step 2: Enable scripts and configure MitM scope
In override details, both Scripts and MitM toggles must be ON. Verify MitM hosts: gs-loc.apple.com, gs-loc-cn.apple.com. Generate CA: Stash Settings → MitM → Generate CA. Install profile. iOS trust: Settings → General → About → Certificate Trust Settings → toggle ON.
- Scripts and MitM toggles both ON.
- CA trust: Settings → General → About → Certificate Trust Settings.
Step 3: Verify with WLOC diagnostics
Save a test target. Run diagnostics. Look for patch count > 0.
- Patch count > 0 confirms the response patch.
- Stash activity log shows per-request script execution.
Step 4: Restore: clear, disable override, revoke CA
WLOC: clear target. Stash: toggle override OFF, disable MitM. iOS: remove CA profile. Override can stay subscribed.
- Toggle override OFF, then disable MitM.
- Remove CA profile for full trust revocation.
Common gotchas
Override imported through Script Hub
Delete it. Start over. Subscribe directly. Script Hub will break WLOC. Direct subscription is the only supported path.
FAQ
Why can't I use Script Hub?
Script Hub processes and transforms YAML. WLOC's script-provider structures get altered. Direct subscription preserves the exact format.
